Dalila was the youngest Fellow in the 2004-2005 cohort, selected at age 20. Even at her young age, she began her career in the media as a news anchor for a local television station in Orange Walk Town. In 2010 she began working as a journalist at RSV Media Limited in Belize City in the News Department. She wrote news articles that covered Social, Political, Environmental and Sexual and Reproductive Health issues. The stories were aired on the National Radio Station, Love FM and the television news, Love TV News. In late 2011 Dalila took up a new challenge and transferred to Estereo Amor Radio Station, still under the RSV Media Limited umbrella. Estereo Amor is the only Latin Radio Station in Belize. There she is a radio announcer and occasionally writes news stories that air on Love FM, Love News and Estereo Amor (which is translated into Spanish). Today Dalila is 28 years old and lives in the Orange Walk District in the northern part of Belize. She remains active in GOJoven, having completed the Training of Trainers process in 2012 and also serves and the Vice President of the GOJoven Belize Alumni Association (GOBelize). Dalila wants to use her experience as a journalist and her new post as a radio announcer to educate young people on adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and work towards the improvement and promotion of adolescent SRH in her country. Her professional goal is to obtain a Masters in Journalism to further enhance her leadership skills as a journalist and leader working towards the improvement, promotion and advocacy of adolescent SRH in Belize.
