Gabriela Flores Rodríguez

Gabriela Flores Rodríguez was 22 years old when she was selected as a GOJoven Fellow.  Since then she has dedicated her work to promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in Honduras.  Gabriela is currently part of a Young Women’s Association called “Ser Mujer” (Being a Woman), where she leads projects such as the training of youth and adolescents in Sexual and Reproductive Rights.  She also is a lead representative for the Network of Latinamerican Youth for Sexual Rights (REDLAC), a regional advocacy network in SSR.  Gabriela is a student in her last year studying computational systems engineering at the Central American Technological University (UNITEC).  Previously, Gabriela worked with the University Women’s Feminist Collective, where she provided guidence to projects in the “Network of Youth for Sexual and Reproductive Rights” and “Young University Student Feminists.  In this role, she had the opportunity to represent these groups at international conferences in 2010 such as the Regional Women’s Conference (CEPAL), the Global Women’s NGO Forum, and the Worldwide Youth Conference.  Gabriela has also been an active member of the Lesbian Network Catrrachas, where she has collaborated to carry out policy advocacy efforts in defense of the rights of the LGBTQ community.
