Jorge Arturo Hernández

Jorge had worked for more than five years as a volunteer at the Red Cross in Santa Bárbara, where he has contributed to the protection of natural resources and provided trainings to youth in HIV prevention.  He worked as a teacher for the Honduran Program for Community Education (PROHECO) with youth living in rural areas.  Jorge graduated with a high school degree in sciences with a focus in education.  His short term goal is to obtain a bachelor’s degree in education with a focus in social sciences.  After graduating, his goal is to continue providing young people with basic education in history and sexual and reproductive health.  He was 19 years old when he was selected as a Fellow.  Jorge comes to the program with the goal of increasing his abilities as a leader because his long term goal is to become the first mayor of his community and a well-known leader.
