Juan Fernando de Jesus Buc Suc

Juan Fernando de Jesus Buc Suc is a 24 year-old indigenous Poqomchi who provides IT technical support to the Ministry of Education. This long-time community leader coordinates a youth-led program, , Expresión, which focuses on a variety of issues affecting youth including crime prevention, education, health and the environment. His goal is to expand and legally register , Expresión as a youth organization. He is currently working on his Bachelor’s Degree in information technology and hopes to continue his post-graduate studies in Psychology. As a GOJoven Fellow, Juan Fernando hopes to leverage his knowledge of the Ministry of Education to implement effective advocacy strategies around sex education in the region and ultimately, on a national level.
