Albo Rocael López Hernandez

Albo is originally from San Felipe, La Antigua Guatemala. He was selected as a GOJoven Fellow when he was 18 years old. He belongs to the Indigenous Development Association Yepocapa, an association that ensures the collective integral development in the municipality of San Pedro Yepocapa Chimaltenango. The association’s priority areas for work are: training for community authorities, entrepreneurship programs, strengthening of rights, (gender equality, prevention of violence), and dental days, among others. Albo is a graduate of the Intercultural Institute in Santiago with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and is in the second semester of Law at the University of San Carlos in Guatemala. He has experiences as a facilitator in the camp with girls “Weaving Voices in the Department del Quiché and Totonicapan, volunteering at the Observatory of Sexual Health and Juvenile Reproductive Health Guatemala -OSAR- for the empowerment of girls in the promotion of Integral Education in Sexuality, and currently has his certification as a promoter for the EIS in Guatemala. His goal is to generate space for dialogue and debate for youth with a focus on human rights.
